CRUDE COCONUT OIL (CCO)

Crude coconut oil (CCO) refers to the unrefined and unprocessed oil that is extracted directly from coconut copra (dried coconut kernel). The extraction process typically involves mechanical or natural methods, such as pressing or expeller pressing, without the use of chemicals or high heat.

Crude coconut oil retains the natural flavors, aroma, and color of the coconut. It may contain impurities and particles from the coconut, as it hasn’t undergone the refining process. This type of coconut oil is often used for certain applications where a more intense coconut flavor is desired. However, it is not as suitable for cooking at high temperatures due to its lower smoke point compared to refined coconut oil.
